Students are instructed in non-aggressive, self-defense techniques and safety awareness. Personal esteem, respect for others, self-discipline and physical fitness are promoted. At the conclusion of class, students will be eligible to earn a certified belt. Returning students can earn a higher rank belt. Students should wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing such as sweat pants or shorts and a T-shirt. If they prefer, children have time to change after school.Uniforms are optional and can be purchased from the instructor. It is the responsibility of the parent to transport children from East Bethel Elementary School, St. Francis Elementary School, or other locations to class.

Blacklights? Check! Glow sticks? Check! Neon art supplies to light up the night? Check and check! This class is so much fun! Come create a colorful art project using special fluorescent art materials that really glow under blacklight. After we create, we’ll turn up the music, turn on the blacklights and get the glow party started. Please pack a nut free snack and drink.

This course follows the American Academy of Pediatrics – Babysitter Lessons And Safety Training (BLAST). Students learn current practices for safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants, how to handle behavior problems, and how to manage their babysitting business. Students receive a reference book, recipe and game handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit. Bring a bag lunch, beverage and a snack.
