"The Stringman" Paul ImholteLunch BunchIf it has strings, Paul Imholte probably plays it. Paul performs traditional American, Celtic, and original music on a nearly a dozen folk instruments. For the Lunch Bunch Show in March, he’ll play primarily traditional Irish music and throw in some of his original songs and instrumentals. A featured instrument of Paul is the hammered dulcimer. The hammered dulcimer is a trapezoid-shaped, string instrument. The strings of the instrument are struck with light hammers producing an enchanting sound. Paul also sings and plays fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, viola, cello, mountain dulcimer, autoharp, harmonica, jaw harp, and spoons. Paul’s music reflects growing up in rural Minnesota. He sings songs about about farms, small towns, and the people that make their living on the land. He has released twelve CDs of hammered dulcimer instrumentals and his original songs. Personal esteem, respect for others, self-discipline and physical fitness are promoted. At the conclusion of class, students will be eligible to earn a certified belt. Returning students can earn a higher rank belt. Students should wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing such as sweat pants or shorts and a T-shirt. If they prefer, children have time to change after school.Uniforms are optional and can be purchased from the instructor. Ararat from its capital city, Yerevan, we’ll explore Areni Cave where archeologists have unearthed a 6000 year old wine press and an array of fermenting vats and storage pots. We’ll follow the trail of prehistoric standing stones, Armenia’s Stonehenge, marching across the mountaintop, visit a pagan temple complex, and a monastery carved into a mountain And we will learn the truth about the holocaust perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks in 1915 in which 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives. BMX Community Ed NightGeneral InterestRum River BMX was named the #1 track in the United States for BMX racing. At BMX, everyone gets to participate. It’s a great way for riders of all ages to stay active, build confidence, develop life skills, connect with others, and most importantly, have fun! During your time at the track you’ll learn the fundamentals, including but not limited to; Answers to the question “What is BMX racing?”, types of race bikes, BMX terminology and safety. The best part? You get to hit the track! Students will receive hands-on riding instructions and will practice their new skills on the BMX track. This course is designed for new riders, (novices,non USA BMX membership holders) interested in the sport. If you can pedal a bike without training wheels, you can participate! No special bikes required. No worries about bringing a bike with you, we have a fleet of HARO race bikes available in a number of sizes. Bikes and full face helmets are available on a first come first serve basis. A full face helmet is recommended, some form of helmet is required.
