"The Stringman" Paul ImholteLunch BunchIf it has strings, Paul Imholte probably plays it. Paul performs traditional American, Celtic, and original music on a nearly a dozen folk instruments. For the Lunch Bunch Show in March, he’ll play primarily traditional Irish music and throw in some of his original songs and instrumentals. A featured instrument of Paul is the hammered dulcimer. The hammered dulcimer is a trapezoid-shaped, string instrument. The strings of the instrument are struck with light hammers producing an enchanting sound. Paul also sings and plays fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, viola, cello, mountain dulcimer, autoharp, harmonica, jaw harp, and spoons. Paul’s music reflects growing up in rural Minnesota. He sings songs about about farms, small towns, and the people that make their living on the land. He has released twelve CDs of hammered dulcimer instrumentals and his original songs.
